Carlingford will be the location of the latest residential care home opened by Anglicare, taking the number of Anglicare homes to 24.

Carlingford House is on the site of the recommissioned Rayward home, previously operated by Wesley Mission and now leased by Anglicare.

Simon Miller, the CEO of Anglicare Sydney, says that the signing of the lease “reflects our approach to delivering aged care that’s personal in response to the evolving needs of Australia’s ageing population.

“We walk side by side with older Australians and are committed to providing high-quality care that enriches lives and strengthens communities.”

Dan Dwyer, Anglicare’s Group Executive – Residential Care adds:  “This is a great opportunity for our residential care team. We are focused on delivering person-centred care through our rhythm of life philosophy, and we look forward to welcoming more residents to experience this at Carlingford House.”

For its part, Wesley Mission welcomes the new arrangement.

“We’re delighted Anglicare will provide aged care on this site, which for many years was home to Wesley Rayward Aged Care,” says Wesley’s CEO, the Rev Stu Cameron.

“Together with Alan Walker Village retirement living next door, it shows how Christian aged care providers can work side by side for great outcomes in Carlingford.”

After refurbishments, the 74-room facility will open later this year.
