The Rev Stephen Shearsby will become the new director of Sydney Anglican children's ministry organisation Kidzlink.
"I will be setting and implementing the vision for Kidzlink. This will mean performing many roles including evangelist, teacher, consultant, promoter, fundraiser and trainer, he says.
Mr Shearsby has spent the past three years as children's minister at St Paul's, Menai.
Although Kidzlink has a long history within the Diocese through ministries such as GFS, it is not part of Youthworks nor funded by the Diocese.
"Our main focus is to be a long-term partner with churches, assisting them to maximise their outreach potential through various ministries such as playgroups and after-school clubs."
On Saturday October 25 last year, over 270 people from across Sydney gathered at Deer Park for the Kidzlink Kids Big Day Out.
A big top, jumping castle and sideshow alley activities created a circus atmosphere conducive to relationship building and gospel sharing.
Christian performer Tony Jones and his band kicked off the day with a concert and Peter Wood performed a magic show including a short Christian message.
The event also provided leaders from GFS and Kidsplus groups and children to see that they are part of a larger Christian network.
