The accessibility of video means that this resource is very easy to share, not just for the people who ‘do welcoming’ at Birmingham Cathedral, but Christians at churches around the world. Thanks Steve Fogg for bringing this video to my, and now your attention.

Wouldn’t it be great if we did this more - sharing resources (and training resources would be a great start), to learn from each other and to serve the church at large. There are cultural differences from suburb to suburb, and country to country, but many of the key ideas are relevant across suburbs and even nations (at least Western nations).

I recently wrote some guidelines for running a prayer meeting for my church. I’m also compiling a communications strategy and style guide, to try to ensure our communication is deliberate, clear and consistent - I’m benefiting greatly from the efforts of others, and grateful for those who have made their thinking available to the rest of us (read more here).
