Christmas week has begun with special celebrations across Anglican churches in Sydney and ten services at St Andrew’s Cathedral.

Many churches held carol events on Sunday 19th, and will hold specialised services for children on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.

Connect09 favourite Colin Buchanan led the week with his traditional kids concert at the Cathedral on Monday.

Veteran evangelist John Chapman will preach at the Seniors Christmas at 2pm on Wednesday followed by afternoon tea at the Cathedral.

Throughout the week, Anglicans are also becoming involved in a series of innovative Christmas outreach ideas, ranging from flash mob carolling to free gift wrapping services.

Archbishop Jensen will preach at the Cathedral three times this week, on Wednesday at 6pm at the Healing Service, the next night at 7pm at the traditional Lessons and Carols service, and on Christmas morning at 10 am.

The Archbishop’s Christmas Message will be released on Friday morning and will be available for download at sydneyanglicans.net.
