The activities: Two opera singers including St Philip's, Turramurra South staff member Graeme Anderson, a classical trumpet player and a pianist from Opera Australia, performed some classical pieces and light opera. The audience also joined the performers in singing some carols. The rector of St Paul's, the Rev Stuart Robinson gave a short evangelistic message.

Where: St Paul's church building.

Attendance: 100 people including 40 guests.

Elements that worked best

"It was a quality night that appealed to a particular cross-section of the congregation and community. There were significant numbers of non-Christians present because many parishioners felt comfortable bringing their friends along," Stuart Robinson says.

"Each guest received a St Paul's information pack and a free copy of Lee Strobel's The Case for Christmas."

What could be improved?

"We could urge more regulars to come along. I think now that people who went know this is a good event they will help spread the message next year."
