2009 is rapidly drawing to a close. It’s a year in which our diocese has promoted the idea of “connecting” with the community about us. This was a bold idea, and a good one. So far, the campaign has met with a more positive response than many of us dared hope. Everyone will be aware of some tremendous stories. And yet, I suspect many of you are wishing you had done a little bit more by this stage. If that rings true, I want to draw your attention to some upcoming events and a new resource.
Inspiring People is a series of one hour panel discussions through September and October, featuring some of Australia’s most successful people from a variety of fields. There are morning, lunchtime and evening events, held across several locations. If you are like me, you hear about this sort of thing and say, “What a great idea”, and that’s the last you think about it. Don’t be like that! Instead, why not buy a ticket today, and then find a friend you can invite?
Jesus: Connections for Life is a new resource from Christians in the Media. It’s a four week study that equips you to answer the questions raised in the “Jesus All About Life” media campaign. The material is very good, and the presentation is excellent. Want to instantly raise the “evangelistic temperature” of your small group? Order a copy today, and spend the next few weeks working through the studies.
Happy connecting!
