The Rev Canon Howard Dillon, former CEO of Anglicare, died last night after a long struggle with cancer.

Canon Dillon spent his last days in palliative care at his Mittagong home, and is said to have died peacefully in the company of his family.

In the days leading up to his passing, Canon Dillon was reportedly "in good heart'.

A memorial service is planned to take place in the Southern Highlands. Anglican Media will provide more details when they become available.
