The launch of HQ, the Sydney Diocese' site for ministry workers, has generated enough internet activity to require the installation of a new server.

"Even in the test-phase we've noticed the increased load on our server," says Sydneyanglicans.net editor Mark Hadley.

"Now that the site is open to all paid ministry workers in the diocese we're expecting a much bigger load, so it's time to upgrade the server."

HQ is the initiative of senior clergy like Bishop Glenn Davies, who saw the need for an online location that would allow hundreds of Gospel workers to pool their considerable experience.

"Sydneyanglicans.net's HQ site will provide ministry workers with an ideal place to share ideas and resources in a secure environment," Bishop Davies says.

"There's also the advantage of being able to stay informed about happenings in their region, the diocese and the evangelical world."

Sydneyanglicans.net hopes HQ will also help streamline diocesan communications.

"The site includes a notice-board for the sort of diocesan and regional documents that can clog church letterboxes," Mr Hadley says.

"Now ministry worker's don't have to scour the office for the last letter or resource sent out " it's all available on-line."

Site designer Luke Stevens says HQ's services were developed under the careful eye of a team of parish-based workers.

"We've spent months pulling together services like updates from popular evangelical sites and easy access to clergy contact information," he says.

"The guys who helped design it seem happy with the result " which is a good thing cause I'm exhausted!"

Early registers have already used the site to tackle topics like expanding the evangelistic opportunities in marriage and baptism services.

Access to HQ is available to all paid ministry staff within the Sydney Diocese.
