New Catholic ministry off the Mark
The Rev Mark Gilbert has left Holy Trinity, Kingsford for certainty: Certainty 4 Eternity that is. This new program, which will run under Evangelism Ministries' umbrella, is "a network for people who want to understand where Roman Catholics are coming from better and talk with them about the gospel," Mr Gilbert says.
This new ministry emerged from Mr Gilbert's desire to see Christians talking openly about Jesus and the gospel. "As Christians, we want to be talking about the gospel with everyone," Mr Gilbert says, adding there are people in all churches who don't know the gospel. "We shouldn't let denominations be a barrier to talking about Jesus," he says.Mr Gilbert is also working on some resources specifically for people to share with Roman Catholics.
He is combining the three-days-a-week role with two days a week as assistant minister at St Stephen's, Normanhurst. He started this on February 1, and is looking forward to teaching the Bible regularly and pastoring the small group leaders at St Stephen's.

Goodbye Kowloon, Hello Kiama!
The Rev Stephen Stanis will take up the position of rector of Kiama Anglican Churches on March 14, after two years as senior assistant minister at St Andrew's, Kowloon in Hong Kong.
"We believe God has called us back to leadership here, enriched from the experiences of ministry we have enjoyed in Hong Kong, [which have] shown us that wherever we minister, God's people want to hear his word and be challenged to respond to his word."

Farrell heads north
On March 14, the Rev Glenn Farrell becomes rector of Lithgow after three years as curate-in-charge at Jamberoo.
"We came to do a job and make it a viable ministry," Mr Farrell says of his time at Jamberoo. "We've done that job and now it's time to hand it over and let someone else consolidate that work."
Mr Farrell is excited about the move to Lithgow and will be working closely with Portland branch's honorary assistant minister, Canon Alan Langdon.

Chung's change to Berala
As part of a five-year ministry partnership, Andy Chung has moved from St Paul's, Carlingford to look after St James', Berala as a stipendiary lay worker, under the leadership of Carlingford's rector, Bruce Hall. Mr Hall had been leading both churches since the partnership was formed in May last year.
Mr Chung, who finished up as AFES worker at Sydney University's Cumberland Campus last year, is motivated by the opportunities at Berala.
"There was a need for the parish to be looked after and the flock to be pastored, and there is a great potential for these Christians to be a great outreach to the area," Mr Chung says.
