Church planters, school chaplains and four graduates from Youthworks college are among the latest candidates to be ordained as deacons.
In one of the most varied years so far, Archbishop Peter Jensen will ordain the 35 men and women at 10 am on Saturday, 5th of February, at St Andrew’s Cathedral.
Among the candidates are two church planters, Toby Neal, who leads a ministry starting at Surry Hills and Christian Anderson, doing the same at Canterbury.

Four Youthworks college graduates, Luke Thomson, Michael Begbie, Jana Koulouris and Matt Bartlett, follow two candidates last year and two in 2009.
For Jana Kolouris, it completes a circle.
Youthworks boss Zac Veron was the first person Jana heard preaching the gospel when she attended St George North and the last person she had as a lecturer for College.
“In fact” Koulouris says “he’s even lending me a cassock for the service”.
Prayer request
Also among the candidates are chaplains for Barker College and Rouse Hill Anglican College as well as more than 30 others in parish ministry.
Anglicans across Sydney are being asked to pray for the ordinands as they prepare.
