Event: Women's Gingerbread House Night

The activities: Evangelism Ministries' Lesley Ramsay spoke. There was a musical item followed by an evening of gingerbread house making.
Where: Merrylands church hall.
Attendance: 60 women in total including over 30 guests.
Elements that worked best
"It was the second year we ran it so we knew what to expect," says event organiser and Woodville Road member Elizabeth Killick. "Many of our women were involved in the organisation process which made them feel a part of the night and more confident to invite friends.”
"There was a good response to the talk from the guests and we were able to promote our Christmas services and community carols," she says.
What could be improved?
"Perhaps holding the night earlier in the year could be better as there is a lot on in early December," Mrs Killick says. "Also, we might not do a gingerbread night next year because the cost is limiting in this part of Sydney which is not as socio-economically well off."
"We might do something less expensive so church members feel comfortable paying for their friends," she says.
