Title: Schools Ministry Specialist - Greater Sydney
Purpose: Strategic oversight and advancement of Scripture Union NSW schools ministry
Appointment: 3-5 days per week by negotiation
Specific Accountabilities
- Ensure SU NSW Schools Ministries operate as per SU Aims, Beliefs, & Working Principles.
- Participate in delivering the strategic plan to grow SU NSW schools ministry.
- Ensure growing levels of engagement and performance of volunteers and staff who support them.
- Work in partnership with other SU staff to ensure groups know and comply with Department of Education regulations.
- Ensure that all schools' ministries have clear and detailed policies, procedures, and plans and that they are adhered to.
- Ensure events, training days, meetings, etc., are well organised, that records are maintained and that they comply with relevant legal demands, including ChildSafe standards.
- Ensure volunteers are trained to prevent harm to children and vulnerable people.
- Ensure volunteers are regularly equipped, encouraged, and empowered to share the gospel's good news to kids in schools.
- Advocate for SU NSW School’s Ministry with external organisations.
- Contribute to and encourage innovative ideas and their resourcing and implementation.
- Raise the profile of the SU NSW Schools Ministry to generate prayer and financial support.
- Contribute and implement succession planning for key volunteers
- Actively seek to explore new approaches to Schools Ministry (i.e. apart from ISCF & SUPA).
