St Mark’s Darling Point is a growing church that seeks to be ‘transformed by grace to love one another, to serve the city, and to share Christ’.
We are looking to appoint a Director of Choral Music & Organist to work with our current ministry team. The purpose of this role is to develop our music ministry at our 8am Book of Common Prayer service, continuing the fine work of Dr Bill Clark. The director will also seek to grow our choral scholars programme.
The role is for 2 days per week, with Weddings and Funerals in addition.
The successful applicant will be:
- a growing disciple of Jesus Christ, with a deep and prayerful knowledge of the Scriptures and a desire to uplift God in praise and worship
- a gifted and experienced musician with a knowledge of the Anglican choral tradition
- a music educator and leader, capable of managing a team of volunteers, of recruiting new members and of mentoring younger musicians
- a person of maturity and energy, and a good team member
- creative and well-organised
He or she should:
- hold a relevant qualification in music
- be able to sign Faithfulness in Service
- hold a current Working With Children Check
It is likely that the applicant will be an organist capable of playing for weddings and funerals as they arise.
