Job Title: Parish Village Chaplain, Donald Robinson Village, Kirrawee
Status: Permanent Part Time (3 days per week)
DRV has approximately 150 residents in seniors living. The Village has an established Sunday@5 service, which has an average of 65 residents meeting weekly.
It has two part-time chaplains, jointly funded by Anglicare and the Sunday@5 congregation through parish partnership with St John’s Sutherland. A Sunday@5 service committee works with the chaplains to facilitate this ministry.
The chaplains at DRV are employed as parish partnership chaplains with St John’s Sutherland and are licensed to the Senior Minister at St John’s Sutherland. The goal of the chaplains is to assist Anglicare staff to build communities of care, where people feel they are loved, they matter, and that they belong.
The chaplain to be appointed will be a man who will work collaboratively with the other chaplain in planning and providing a church service on Sundays at 5pm and delivering chaplaincy across the village. The chaplain’s responsibilities include:
Preaching weekly and delivering a communion service monthly.
Providing pastoral care to residents, their families, and staff at DRV.
Promoting team work by encouraging contributions and involving others in decisions
Working closely with the other chaplain in all aspects of chaplaincy and valuing her ministry as chaplain.
