About the role

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our Registrar’s team in the role of permanent part-time PTC Course Coordinator.

Growing out of training for lay preachers within the Anglican Diocese of Sydney, the Moore PTC is a non-accredited course that has been designed to provide a flexible and affordable way for individuals and groups to commence theological studies.

It aims to give students a solid introduction to the biblical, theological and historical foundations of the Christian faith. The course has had far-reaching impact throughout Sydney and Australia and is a key resource for theological education around the world through the work of the College’s Centre for Global Mission.

In the role of PTC Course Coordinator, you will be responsible for overseeing the effective implementation of strategies that achieve the objectives of the Moore PTC. Some of your key responsibilities will include:

  • Overseeing the quality of the educational experience of students in the Moore PTC, including defining quality improvement projects.
  • Identifying opportunities to expand the delivery of the course and establishing various partnerships to promote the Moore PTC as a theological/ministry training resource.
  • Developing promotional strategies for the growth of the Moore PTC.
  • Leading, motivating and working towards building a small multidisciplinary team.

About you

The successful candidate will meet the following essential selection criteria:

  • Ability to develop plans to implement strategy and achieve goals
  • Ability to identify resources needed to achieve plan outcomes, including engaging team members
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships with partners and stakeholders
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
  • Ability to identify opportunities for quality improvement, define and describe initiatives in terms of project work, and manage projects to achieve successful outcomes
  • Skills in written communication including the ability to write formal reports (e.g. to senior management and governance)
  • Ability to support and promote the Christian vision, mission and values of Moore Theological College

It is desirable that you also have:

  • A broad understanding of education and pedagogy/andragogy
  • Experience in the higher education and/or not-for-profit sector
  • Understanding of the Sydney Anglican diocese
