When: Saturday December 23, 7:45pm
The activities: A choir and band members lead the crowd in singing Christmas carols. There is a short message from the rector of St Clement's, the Rev Stuart Smith.
Where: The rotunda at Balmoral Beach.
Attendance: Estimates between 4000 to 6000. Fewer than the past few years because of the wet weather.
Elements that worked best
"It's something like the 15th year we have run this so I think we know how to run the event well," says Stuart Smith. "It's a useful event for helping us connect people to our Christmas church services."
What could be improved next year?
"The Carols have always been on the Saturday before Christmas day. Because Christmas Eve and Christmas day came right after the event this year perhaps it was too close to get people to come to another Christmas service at the church. We are still trying to work out what the most strategic day is for the Carols," Mr Smith says.
