Children's workers have a new on-line friend thanks to the theological an entrepreneurial nous of a Sydney school teacher.
Kidswise is a web site, which aims to provide quality material for teaching children the gospel at affordable rates.
The majority of Kidswise material is written by Sandy Galea. However, it also includes a number of talks and units written by other members of her church (Multicultural Bible Ministry, Rooty Hill Anglican).
The new online resource is already garnering high praise from a variety of Christian workers:
Wade " Presbyterian minister, Lismore
"I have found Kidswise to be a very useful tool for preparing children's ministry. In particular, Sandy's programs are extremely thorough and include a great vaiety of teaching tools. As more resources are added, this site will be an even more valuable tool for proclaiming Jesus to children."
Chris " Anglican Minister, Earlwood
"I have used this material to put together studies for our children's church over the last school holidays " it was quick and easily usable for our situation. It provided good variety for an hour lesson and was easy for our fill-in teachers to use."
Lucy " ENTER Ministry
"We have been using Sandy Galea's children's material for the last two years at our church. Our children's workers find it a creative and life-changing resource. The children especially adore the craft activities.”
Sandy is married to Ray Galea and they have three children - James, Amy and Madeleine. She is a trained primary teacher who has over twenty years experience working with both high school and primary aged children in public and private schools.
She has been involved in teaching children through camping programmes, kids clubs, beach missions and children's churches.
For the past thirteen years she has been writing her own material for use in her local church. Her programmes follow her church's sermon series.
As a result, she has written and edited over five hundred children's talks.
In 2002, Sandy published a book called "Children's Talks " a practical guide", which aimed to share some of the insights from her broad experience.
Over the past ten years, she has trained children's workers in her local church and at training seminars and conferences in Sydney and beyond.
To gain access to the programmes and resources, teachers need to pay an annual membership fee.
