While many of his contemporaries are on schoolies break, one Sydney year 12 student is spending his time organising prayer for the youth of Sydney.

The Connect09 motto, ‘Pray, Connect, Expect’ has hit home with Barker College student, David Buster, who was so fired up about the Loud Youth event that he has contacted hundreds of people on Facebook to stage a co-ordinated prayer event this Friday 27th November at 8pm, to pray Sydney’s young people.

“The idea is that many young people will be in Friday night youth groups, or some have bible studies going at the time or other social groups, so I picked 8pm Friday as a time when it will be easy to pray in a group, even if it is only for five minutes.” says Buster.

“People have been enthusiastic, they believe something like this will unite Christians, in a way. Its something they think that’s needed. We’re also hoping this will create a buzz and be a warm up for the Live out Loud event next week.”
Organisers of the Live out Loud event at the Sydney Entertainment Centre on December the 4th have made the call to move to ‘end stage’ (larger capacity) configuration of the Entertainment Centre. That means that approx 400 extra floor tickets have been released and are now being printed.

Introducing the night will be Dave Miers from Willoughby Anglican. and there will be a gospel message from Steve Chong calling young people to put their trust in Jesus, and encouraging them to get connected by joining a local youth group.

One of the organisers, Dave Parker, says “We know there are a lot of people planning to buy tickets at the door. We will have tickets for sale at the door, but we would appreciate people purchasing in advance to help reduce the pressure on the ticket office.”

Several regional youth groups are also coordinating train trips to converge on the city between 6 and 6.30 pm.
