Newtown Erskineville Anglican Church (neac.com.au) is excited to advertise for a full-time Assistant Minister to join our ministry staff team in 2026. The role will involve a range of ministry opportunities in our church, including preaching, discipleship, evangelism, organisation of ministries, and oversight of our youth ministry. Selection Criteria

Essential

  • To be a sincere and devoted Christian believer and an example of godliness.
  • Tertiary degree in theology (anticipated completion by 2026 accepted).
  • Eligibility to meet Sydney diocesan Safe Ministry requirements.
  • Commitment to abide by the National Anglican code of conduct, ‘Faithfulness in Service’.
  • Demonstrated competence and experience in pastoral ministry, including preaching, leadership, evangelism, and pastoral care.
  • Willingness to support the ministry priorities of Newtown Erskineville Anglican Church and work under the authority of the rector.

Desirable

  • Ordination, or anticipated ordination, as an Anglican deacon or presbyter.
  • Experience in youth ministry.
  • Experience in small groups ministry.
  • Experience in recruitment and support of volunteers and team leadership.
