We're looking for a part-time (1 day per week) SRE Co-ordinator to oversee the volunteer team of SRE teachers and to ensure all essential paperwork, training and credentials are up to date.
KEY TASKS AND RESPONSIBLITIES
Administration
- Maintain SRE teacher records on PCO and the SRE database
- Ensure the approved curriculum is bought, distributed and taught.
- Liaise with the schools in which our volunteers teach.
- Communicate with the volunteer team.
- Assist in recruiting and selecting and training SRE teachers.
Support
- Assist in the pastoral support of SRE teachers.
- Pray for the volunteer team and the children they teach.
- Aid meeting and praying together as a team throughout the year.
Teaching
- Prepare for and teach at least one class each week.
- Fill in as a reserve teacher where possible.
Your normal work hours will be Wednesday 9am to 1pm; remaining hours are flexible.
TRAINING AND SUPPORT
This role nests within the Children’s Ministry team. Regular check ins and meeting with the Children’s Minister will provide training and support. This Youthworks guide is the best source of information for the SRE coordinator role.
Youthworks also provide a support team to help with all aspects of SRE ministry. They can provide practical help and advice and run regular training days to help keep you up to date with all aspects of this very valuable ministry.
