More than twelve hundred people have crammed the Hills Centre in Castle Hill to testify to the evangelistic efforts being made in Sydney's north west.
Six congregations from Castle Hill, Glenhaven and Oakhill combined their Sunday morning services to re-commit themselves to declaring "the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light.'
Mr John Hooton, an associate minister at St Paul's, Castle Hill, says the service provided parishioners the chance to reaffirm the message that unites them.
"Being such a diverse parish, it is important for us to meet together, as one, to celebrate the goodness of God and focus together on our mission as a parish to win people in the Hills District for Christ," Mr Hooton says.
The service centred on a dramatic recreation of the life of the Apostle Peter, presented by St Paul's creative arts team.
"Watching a whole group of gifted people serving together in set design, music, drama and technical services was a thrill," commented the Reverend Michael Robinson.
Senior minister, the Reverend John Gray, used the performance to focus attention on Peter's epistle to the first century church, reminding his audience that God is committed to building his church.
"Here were people from all six congregations expressing their love for Christ and their desire to serve his people," says Mr Robinson.
