[UPDATE: Orders must be placed by close of business Thursday]

Anglican Media has been forced to announce a new deal for the inaugural Christmas-themed evangelistic 'Connect' magazine after the first run 'sold out' in just one week.

Apart from 23,000 copies that will be inserted into December Southern Cross a further 5,000 copies have been offered free to churches to hand out at their Christmas events.

The idea of publishing a glossy A5 magazine especially for visitors to churches at Christmas time has proved a winner, with 17 churches snapping up the free copies in just a few days since the offer was announced.

A number of churches said the evangelistically-focused Christmas -themed magazine was a "good fit" for their outreach plans in December.

Lugarno Anglican have ordered 750 copies to hand out as part of showbag given to people who will attend a local community Christmas carols.

While at St Barnabas', Roseville East, 1000 copies have been ordered to give away to people who will be coming through the church because of the upcoming by-election in Brendan Nelson’s former electorate of Bradfield.

Ministry Trainee Sam Pursell who is helping to organise the day at St Barnabas' says the focus "will be on conversations and connecting with our community that way".

"But having helpful material to give to people will be great. We are considering a stall, or having some on tables under shade where people can drink a coffee, read the paper and relax for a while," he says.

I have been asked similar questions by a number of churches interested in ordering copies. To help the answers are provided below:
