News that three people recently came to Christ may not sound earth-shattering.

However this trio live in a major Middle Eastern city, and were converted after attending a course written by a Sydney Anglican minister.

The course called Introducing God was written by the Rev Dominic Steele, rector of Annandale Anglican Church, and founder of Christians in the Media.  It takes place over dinner, with a talk and table discussion introducing guests to the God of the Bible and outlining his salvation plan beginning with Genesis through to Revelation.

Over 1,100 churches across the globe " from South East Asia to Ireland - have now signed up to run the course.

But how did Introducing God wind up being run in the Middle East.

It had been recommended to a local pastor, who is originally from Sydney, by Shaun Potts, a lecturer at Morling College, the Baptist training facility.

"We thought Introducing God had many advantages over competing products such as the Alpha Course," said the local pastor, who can not be named for security reasons.

Introducing God is having an impact in many out-of-the-way places, including the small outback Western Australian town of Karratha.

The Karratha church was able to invite nine guests who came each week. One guest said, "I found that really helpful. I have no idea what the Bible is about and this has helped me to understand God better."

The Introducing God team will be holding a mission at La Trobe University in Melbourne from February 25.

More information on the course is available at the Introducing God website.
