I learnt about play from Pat Kanes book The Play Ethic "“ A Manifesto for a Different Way of Living. This sprawling website of a book is perhaps a little less fun to read than it ought to be and could be half as long. It swings between groovy journalist chat and would-be academic prose. However, it contains a real and profound challenge to the way we live life in the west.

Gospel singers strike a chord with Japanese

According to the Japanese Consulate, Sydney is home to approximately 18,000 Japanese people. An additional 3,000 Japanese study here in Sydney, with a further 4,000 Japanese youths making use of the Working Holiday Program. Still more, roughly 660,000 Japanese tourists come to Australia every year, most of whom visit Sydney.

Had a coffee with Al this week. He was wearing an F.B.I. sports shirt. A real one. Al has worked in intelligence and policing for many years and has moved with his family to Sydney. Al tells me hes an atheist. He comes to church not only because his wife and children encourage him to, but because of the "little things"¦"
