Media Conference with Archbishop and newly-consecrated Bishop of Wollongong

Media Conference with Archbishop Peter Jensen and Bishop Alan Stewart, newly-consecrated Anglican Bishop of Wollongong on Saturday 31st March at 10.30am at TIGS.

The Rev Alan Stewart will be consecrated Bishop of Wollongong by Archbishop Peter Jensen in St Andrew's Cathedral, George Street, Sydney at 7.30pm on Friday 30th March, 2007. Archbishop Jensen has appointed Bishop Stewart to be Bishop of Wollongong following the recent retirement of Bishop Reg Piper from that role.

The next day, Saturday 31st March, a Service of Welcome for Bishop Stewart will be held in the Auditorium of The Illawarra Grammar School, (TIGS) at 11.30am. This will be the official welcome for Bishop Stewart to the Wollongong Region of the Diocese of Sydney. The region is extensive in size, covering as it does churches from the Sutherland Shire, the Illawarra and South Coast to Ulladulla, and the Southern Highlands and Camden/Campbelltown areas.

A SPECIAL MEDIA CONFERENCE WILL BE HELD at TIGS at 10.30AM on Saturday 31st in the Recital Room, near to the TIGS Auditorium. [enter from Powell Street].
Both Archbishop Jensen and Bishop Stewart will be in attendance.
This Conference is being held to enable the Archbishop to introduce Bishop Stewart to Illawarra, South Coast and Southern Highlands media representatives.
The Conference will be chaired by Geoff Kyngdon, Executive Assistant to the Bishop of Wollongong.

Media are invited also to attend to film, record and photograph the Service following on the Media Conference.
