At its annual general meeting in June, the New South Wales branch of the Evangelical Fellowship in the Anglican Communion (EFAC) farewelled its retiring Chairman, Bishop Ray Smith, Sydney Diocese’s former Georges River Regional Bishop. He was replaced by Bishop Peter Brain of Armidale.
In paying tribute to Bishop Smith’s ten year tenure as Chairman, Bishop of North Sydney, Glenn Davies, who is EFAC’s National President, said “Ray led EFAC NSW through the strategic change from diocesan-based branches to a statewide organisation.”
“This has put the branch in a strong position to better encourage and support the many evangelicals throughout all the seven dioceses in the province. We are grateful to God for Ray’s wise, steady and faithful leadership,” he continued. EFAC is an international Anglican network that aims to promote biblical ministry in the Anglican Church through prayer, networking, training, publications and conferences.
