Moore College faculty member, Dr Con Campbell, is leaving Australia to take up a post in the US next year.
As well as lecturing and writing, Dr Campbell is a well-known jazz musician.
But it is his lecturing skills in New Testament which are in demand.
The Principal of Moore College, Dr John Woodhouse, announced to staff that Dr Campbell, has accepted the post of Associate Professor of New Testament at Trinity Evangelical Divinity School in Chicago.
"While I am sure you share my heavy heart at this news I am also sure that you will join me in wishing the Campbells God’s rich blessing in their new sphere of serving the Lord" Dr Woodhouse told the College.
Dr Campbell teaches New Testament with a special interest in Greek.
His areas of research include the Greek verbal system, and Paul’s teaching concerning our union with Christ.
Dr Campbell told sydneyanglicans.net "We're sad to be leaving Moore College and Sydney, but see this move as an opportunity to export a little piece of Moore into an influential context for global Christianity. We trust it will be good for the Kingdom of God."
Con and his wife Bronwyn and their three children will leave for the US to take up the position at Trinity in August, 2013.
