One of the world's top cricketers is to launch Anglican Aid’s Flawless Bible Tour.

South Africa's greatest wicket taker, Shaun Pollock, will speak at a Sydney breakfast on February 27th, to launch the Bible reading challenge, which will raise money for theological training in Africa, Asia and the Pacific Islands.

A former test captain for his country, Pollock was arguably South Africa’s greatest bowling all-rounder.

"The Bible has been Shaun Pollock’s bedrock throughout his life and he is delighted that some of Anglican Aid’s funding supports training at evangelical Bible colleges in Cape Town, Pietermaritzburg and Johannesburg." Anglican Aid CEO David Mansfield says. "I am delighted that Shaun has accepted our invitation to be the guest speaker at the launch of this exciting challenge."

The Anglican Aid 'Flawless Bible Tour' will see a small team of Bible readers visit 280 parishes, retirement villages and theological colleges across the Sydney Diocese during month of April. The Bible will be read from cover to cover, visiting locations on the hour every hour from 7am to 7pm. The visiting team of readers will be joined by local church readers in this marathon endeavour.

"We want to celebrate the gift of God’s word that has been taught to Sydney Anglicans so faithfully over many generations" Mr Mansfield says"but significantly, this will raise awareness for the great need there is to train African, Asian and Pacific Island pastors; and has the potential to generate significant funding to provide bursaries for these pastors and potential pastors’ Bible training.

The Archbishop of Sydney's Anglican Aid is hoping to raise $500,000 dollars.
