Name: Stephen and Marion Gabbott

Location: Spent 2006 in Bangkok, Thailand, but probably returning to a different location in South East Asia.

Years on field: 14: 7 in East Africa (1972-9); 7 in Thailand (1998-2004 & 2005-6)

Most recent work: Stephen Gabbott was rector of Christ Church, Bangkok, an Anglican church which ministers to the expat community. It is a strategic ministry reaching people from all over the world, from nearly every ethnic group, and from ambassadors to asylum seekers. However the Gabbotts say they particularly developed a heart for the church's work with Karen refugees on the Thai-Burma border.

How they saw God working in 2006:

1. "We have seen people converted through an encounter with the Bible they have never had before."

2. "We saw people who had a Sunday School level of faith strengthened."

3. "We saw people realise for the first time that they had to change the way they were living."

Prayer points for next tour:

1. "Patience as God sorts out our future.

2. "Pray that we will be realistic about what we can humanely offer in ministry at our age.

3. "Pray for Christ Church, Bangkok.

4. "Pray for the reformers in the Anglican Church that they will be culturally sensitive."
